Project Overview

This project covers the deployment, operation, and long-term maintenance of a comprehensive Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) system serving the Riyadh Metro and Bus Network, one of the largest integrated public transportation projects in the region.

The AFC system enables seamless, secure, and efficient fare management across multimodal transport services, supporting millions of daily passenger transactions while ensuring system reliability, scalability, and operational continuity.

The project is executed in collaboration with our international technology partner, Indra Sistemas, leveraging global best practices and proven large-scale transit expertise.

Scope of Work

1. Installation Services

  • Installation of all AFC system components across metro stations and bus infrastructure

  • Deployment of fare gates, validators, ticket vending machines, back-office systems, and associated hardware

  • Integration with central control, clearing, and settlement platforms

  • System configuration, testing, and commissioning in line with international transit standards

2. Field Maintenance Activities

  • On-site preventive and corrective maintenance for all AFC assets

  • Continuous monitoring and fault resolution to ensure high system availability

  • Spare parts management and component replacement

  • Technical support across stations, depots, and operational facilities

3. System Operation & Long-Term Maintenance

  • Full operation and maintenance of the AFC system for a 12-year period

  • Performance-driven service levels ensuring reliability, uptime, and passenger satisfaction

  • Software updates, system optimization, and lifecycle management

  • Compliance with operational KPIs, cybersecurity requirements, and data integrity standards
